megachiropteran:

So I’ve been snooping around the internet to see if anyone else with my healthcare insurance provider who also has a chronic illness has run into the problem of them telling their doctors that you no longer take your medications and so they won’t cover them anymore… or something(?!) I’m still not…

My mother has a brain tumor and diverticulitis. We almost got kicked out of our local care provider because UHC would not pay the bill for her gastroenterologist or neurologist or the ambulance that took her to the emergency room when she was bleeding from her…digestive system. They said the specialists were out of network when actually, we had gotten the names from the in network specialist list. After repeatedly trying to fix this, they eventually noticed the error and paid for one of the bills, but that was after my parents struggled to pay the first two.

We have had nothing but a hard time from them.
